Purpose
The Yarralumla Foundation’s purpose is to facilitate the development and realization of human potential by providing a range of programs and activities in the areas of education, the creative arts, health and wellbeing, (including childhood and youth development,) family relationships, personal growth and social development. The Foundation will also develop a purpose built residential meeting place that can host a range of programs.

Retreat Centre
A current priority is the development of a retreat centre in the Canberra region. Canberra's unique character and size provides particular opportunities in this respect.

This residential meeting centre is designed to host a range of health, personal growth and social development programs and activities for the benefit of particular groups. It will be capable of hosting up to two groups simultaneously. There will be residential accommodation for up to 50 people in twin share or family rooms. The built facilities will provide a good quality accommodation in an attractive retreat atmosphere.

The centre will develop as a ‘centre for human development and learning’ – a place where people experience life changing processes, achieve new understandings and feel safe and supported in making these changes. Groups will have an opportunity to bring different skills together and create something new and beneficial for humanity.

Programs

The core focus of the Foundation’s activities is the design, co-ordination, delivery and sponsorship of integrated programs that offer responses and strategies for successfully coping with health and developmental issues and needs.

This will include programs for:

One current program the Foundation supports is the Opening-The-Door Program of sensory integration for children with learning problems (autism, ADD and ADHD).

Community and Other Programs

Apart from its own programs, the Foundation will offer the Centre as a venue for a variety of programs that reflect our broad objectives. Many networks exist in the area of health and personal development that include the areas of interest to the Foundation.
